Exclamation Warranty Question?

i purchased an aftermarket warranty and i recently put on a six inch suspension lift with 4in rear blocks. I have the stock size tires on the truck. Last weekend i broke an axle and its not being covered because the lift blocks "create more stress on the axle" I do not believe this is true, if lift blocks created torque i would have put 20in blocks under there and been able to tow a freight train. can someone please inform me on how i can get my warranty company to fork over the work, and not try to squize out of it with bs excuses. what sizze blocks do the stock 4X4 come with and can i use that as leverage on my case?

Re: Warranty Question?

Unfortunatly you may have voided your warranty when you modified your truck.
Read your warranty papers carefully.

the first thing my salesmen told me when I bought my dad's 2003 Silverado Z71 was if I modified the suspension or tires it would void my warranty. perhaps if your salesmen didn't notify you of this you could use that in your case? but your papers might come back to get you like merlin said.

Changing the tires will void your warranty?

I would never have imagined, I was thinking aobut changing the wheels and tires on my 2003 Silverado LS to 17 or 18 and a new set of tires. I will DEFINITELY check my warranty before I consider this any further. Thanks for the heads up!

I changed my wheel and tire size right after I bought my truck and had no problems getting some warranty work performed. But if you alter the suspension in any way it voids the powertrain portion of the warranty. This includes the front axle, rear axle, transfer case, motor, and transmission, plus all those moving parts. Always read your warranty info before you perform any altercations to a vehicle.

If you install aftermarket wheels and tires and then come in the dealer for a vibration issue and the dealer finds that the vibration is caused by your aftermarket installation, the dealer doesn't have to fix your vibration under warranty because it is not caused by a factory installed part..plus the fact that if they do, GM will not reimburse them for the repair...
Your warranty coverage is voided only in the specific system or subsystem that is directly affected by the aftermarket installation.

since my trouble with the warranty company i have recieved five hundred dollars. I recieved the money by contacting the BBB. They helped me sooo much and the best thing about it is it was free. The warranty company didnt listen to me till i had the BBB behind me!
