Question Accelerator 'Stuck'?

740i 1998 -

The last two days I have started the car and put it into gear and pushed on the accelerator only to get resistance .... it won't go down ... and the car won't go.

Restarting the car seems to fix the issue. I have never experienced such an issue .... even looked to see if there was something stuck behind it. Strong resistance.

Does anyone know what I might be experencing?

stuck accelerator

Hi,
Have a similar problem on my 97 Camry.
This problem is intermittent. Especially when I get out of cruise or
halt, release the foot brake & try to Accelerate.
I get a lot of resistance from the Accel pedal then.
Have to really 'stamp down' sometimes for it to release.
Checked all the Cables & looked for mech obstacles. couldn't find any.

I'm sort of in the same situation as you. I'm wondering if the Accelerator
module could be the problem..

Any thoughts anyone..
This is my first time on this forum. I can see lots of good info around.

Basco.
