Angry Remote Start

I just got remote start, and as soon as i did my passlock began to act up. Well i thought I had remedyed the problem, but now the passlock will not allow me to start the truck at all. Is there any to disable the pass lock ?? Has anyone else had this problem? Oh yeah it's the old body style.

I dont know how you tried to get around the passlock, but to get it started again, make sure the three passlock wires at the column are connected as stock, turn the key on and leave it on for about 10 minutes, usually the theft light will blink, then become solid when it is reset. Also make sure that you hook up the white wire of the ignition harness to an ignition wire that has 12v during cranking, otherwise your transmission wont shift right everytime you remote start it.

I have tried that.

The problem is that all factory settings were put back into place, and my security light hasn't been coming on. I even tried to unhook the battery for over ten minutes, thus nothing has worked, and i have sent it to the dealership.

Passlock/Remote start/Not starting

Hi,
I am having a similar problem with my 1999 Tahoe!
I also have an after market alarm system installed (AutoPage LCD)
Once in a while, I will enter my truck, try to start it and the first thing I notice is that the "SECURITY" light is flashing. This is when I know it's NOT going to start. After monitoring the problem for months, I found that exactly 10 minutes after the initial attempt to start the truck the "SECURITY" light stops blinking and I have a green light to start the Truck.
What I don't understand is Why this happens??? (Flashing SECURITY light?????)
I monitored it for months because this only happened once every two months or so, but recently it happened on Friday, Sunday, and Tuesday.
If anyone out there knows how I can fix this I would appreciate it.

is there a remote start in the truck, whats going on is that the security system resets after 10 minutes, what you should do is take a look at the ignition harness coming from the key cylinder, there should be a thin yellow, or orange/black. make sure that this wire wasnt cut from a previous install, and bypassed with a resistor. sometimes the resistors are a hair off and when its very hot, or cold, the resistance changes and causes security problems. if you need more help, feel free to email me at [email protected]
