Front wheel assembly movement

Here's the story.....

For a while now when I hit the brakes my car pulls to the right. Making a U-turn the other night at the car wash I bump the curb and then I start occasionally hearing a mild clunking noise coming from the front right A-arm area. Sounds like a popping noise. Now under braking car pulls to the right harder. So I start thinking about what is causing all of this and I decide to check for play in my font wheel assembly. Guess what? My front wheel will move slightly forward and slightly backward.

Does this sound like a bad strut? or A-arm bushings? Anyone else ever had this type of problems or syptoms?

The problem has been fixed.
FYI- The rubber bushing on the control arm had worn out. The control arm braces the wheel assembly and the rubber bushings are located near the front of the car under the radiator. Since the bushings was alomst non-existant it was alowing play in the control arm which, in turn, allowed the wheel assembly to move fwd or back noticably.

It was a pretty easy fix. It cost about $25 and I did the work myself.
