1990 Escort EEC-IV 1.9 L CFI- OBD1 to OBD2 Cable
I would like to be able to use my OBD2 scan tool on my Escort so I can see more than just the codes. I found a diagnostic adapter cable for Ford EFI 7 Pins Male OBD1 to OBD2 OBDII 16 Pins. Is this the correct cable? Will it enable me to see live data? If not, are there any other ways to be able to see live data without spending a lot of money? I just need it for repairs. Thank you.

Re: 1990 Escort EEC-IV 1.9 L CFI- OBD1 to OBD2 Cable
I dont know of a cable. The Ford version of OBD-I is fairly limited. I own and drive several 2nd gen Ford Escorts, and the Check Engine Light and the stored codes have yet to help with repairs. I rebuild my own engines, I rebuild the automatic transmissions, and change the clutches in the 5-speeds myself. All without the 'help' of the EEC-IV system.
Luckily these cars arent that sophisticated anyway. |
