Lease of 2011 Malibu
I have a 2011 basic model Malibu with 42000 miles on it ( 14,000 over the limit) it was 27,000 mile lease. It has 5 months left on the lease If I turn it in now I will have to pay GM approx 5000, so I was trying to get another GM car which is reasonably affordable.I was thinking of the 2013 Malibu LT ?? will this be a better option than a slightly used Impala 2011 or 2012?? as I heard that there is a new bdy shape Impala coming in spring 2013
I dont want to take the 5000 dollar hit thats why I'm trying to get another GM car so that can be avoided I live in IL USA Thanks for any suggestions

Re: Lease of 2011 Malibu
Yesterday, GM added big cash to 2013 Malibus and Cruzes and is offering even more cash for early lease terminations of late-model cars; you might want to check out the Chevy website.
The new-model Impala will be arriving at dealerships in April, so if you want the old style, better get moving. I'm sure there's huge cash on that. The 2014 Malibu will be restyled (not a major change, but the new front end will make it appear so). The 2013 is not selling well. Rear legroom is non-existant; that's the main reason why. Also, fuel economy is nothing to write home about. No reliability record yet, either. |

Re: Lease of 2011 Malibu
The big diff between the '13 Malibu and the '13 Impala is that you must get the V-6 with the Impala, since it's standard. V-6 is not offered on the '13 Malibu.
Knowing your predicament, if I were you, I'd check out the cash back on the '13 Impala, which I think might be $4K, because that would help clear your negative situation on the '11 Mali. Obviously, leasing isn't appropriate for you, so finance a "13 rather than lease. With $4-5K cash back, it's probably cheaper to get a new one rather than used. Used car values are really high right now.... |
