Help!

When i start my car, the rpm goes up to 2-2.5k and stays there for awhile..

Can somebody tell me what's the possible problems and any solutions to solve them? The car's a honda passport. I would post this in the passport section but it looks really dead in there..

Like every other car, when your engine's cold it idles high until it warms up to normal operating temp. 2-2.5rpm is pretty high but as long as it drops after it warms, it's not a problem.

In my toyota this is solved by stepping on the gas pedal momentarily, this disengages the cold start/idler cam and the engine falls to a normal idle speed. Of course if cars still had manual chokes the world would be a far better place.
