Subforums again

Bringing this up again to get people veiws again.
It has been talked about HERE already, but want to update it again with new/old peoples views.
I think most of us have noticed that the forum has really kicked of again in the last month with a huge bunch of new members here.

The turn over of threads each day is quite amazing and IMO a lot of good info is getting missed due to people having to read 2-3-4 pages after only being away for 2-3 days.

There is a poll to vote in this time...so you dont have to comment if you dont want to.

Questions About...Painting/Priming/Putty/Decal and Detailing
Progess and new Projects
Finished Projects
After Market Supplies/Whats New in modelling

???

Feel free to add a subforum if you have any ideas

I like the painting forum, what about another one for detaili ng?

I like the idea of subforums very much now! Maybe there ought to be a Modeling Off Topic forum? For all the members of the model forum to spout off at

I also like the idea of subforums. Just not too many.

It would help the carmodelling forum IMO be a little more organized.

Like it is starting to get annoying to keep seeing, "how to use rubbing compound" "how to make body kits" ect.

Just my view on subforums.

I'd like to add that a Car Modeling > Off Topic forum is not a viable choice at this time. All OT threads belong in the Coffee Break(Off-Topic) section of AF. (Go try it; you might like it! Other Modelers have found their way there and survived the ordeal. )

On the other hand, a Car Modeling > Modeling: Other may be a possibility for other types of modeling as well as posting resources and inspiration.

Projects and progress
Finished models

OT should be left out.....we already have a OT as Jay has pointed out.

I'd like to keep it to around 5-6 subforums at the most

yea, but some people, i used to be one, dont like to post out side of teh model car forum. and if a discussion thread is made, its usually closed by moderators pretty quickly.

When this question was first asked i stated that I would prefer the forum to stay as one. I still like the forum as one but now with being here awhile I do see a need to break it up some. The new threads are gone before you know it and as stated before it could take a person gone for a few days 3-4 pages of new topics to sift through. The other day I posted a question on putty use, which was off on some page with in hours. I only got a few responces that were very helpfull but i feel that if it hoverd around up front for a while it would have gotten more replies. The only option is to bump it back up to the front, maybe some one else will respond. Hey I might just do that now. Adding sub forums may also be more of a hassle for mods, which I dont want to see, but now theres 4 of you guys so maybe it will work.

This is all I can think of for now P-Man but if i think of more I will add it here.

i like the idea. i think there should be a painting, detailing, decals, etc.

What's going to happen with the threads on here? Somebody's not going to spend the time splitting 260 pages of threads into the separate categories, are they?

I've had to do worse...

I'd like to suggest a Contests/Shows/Meets/Conventions subforum... If we choose to employ them...

Iknow.....but with 4 mods on here it will be only 65 pages each ...lol

I really think alot of stuff can be deleted out...might take a while though
