Help driver side door can't open from the outside.
I just bought a eg hatch and I can't open up the driver side door from the outside?? Any tips on why it won't open up?? I'm a total idiot when it comes to cars. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

ummm if the car has an alarm power door locks added on to it, the actuator my be seized or shorted, this happened to me with my passenger door on same type of car.
other wise maybe just something is rusty. |

The car did come with an alarm but my car doesnt have power door locks. And it doesnt look like its rusted either. So mactizen how did you fix your door prob??

We've seen that problem before at the dealership i work at. Sometimes the latch at the back of the door will sieze up and not unlatch. If you cant get it to open up.....this job sucks. Take the drivers seat out and carefully remove the door panel, it will probaly break though. Go in thru the opening in the door skin and use whatever you can to literally destroy the latch at the back of the door....it will open. Then you just have to replace the latch inside. Hope this helps, but it should be a last resort.

i replaced my power lock actuator, it was siezed and that solved my problem
