87 New Yorker 2.2l - Starts every few days help plz
Well I tried looking at that other guys post a few threads down where he was having issues starting his car but he removed all the information in his post. So heres whats going on
I have a 1987 Chrysler New Yorker handed down to me by my great grand mother. She's kept it in realitivly great condition , looks wise. But I'm having some issues right now that are bothering me. As many new yorkers know the mechanics here are very very expensive , so I wanna try to figure this out with some help from other car owners and knowledgeable people. I recently replaced my coolant temperature sensor as I was getting that error code on my chrysler , now it's gone. My vehicle will start up once every few days. When it's running however the exaust smells really strong and is greyish , sometimes almost black. Not a thick black however. But when there is snow on the ground you can see the black area where the exaust is blowing the snow. I have replaced my spark plugs and coolant temp sensor only so far. If you've had this issue in the past and fixed it , what was your problem? Feel free to ask additional questions and I'll answer them the best I can to my knowledge. Thanks from new york! |

What type of driving did she do? Does this model have a carb or is it fuel injected? Is the exhaust black even after the car has warmed up?
