99 Chevy Silverado Lemon?

I see that many people are having problems with this truck. I have the 5.3 liter Z-71 with 66,000 miles. I recently had the ABS modulator valve replaced. The mechanic said that there was close to 50% failure rate and that he expected a recall. Now the front differential needs to be replaced. The mechanic said he's never seen one go bad so soon. And the gas gauge doesn't work. I'm told that could be several hundred to fix. Finally, I've got the piston slap problem that can't be fixed. I bought the truck used in 2001. Do I have any recourse or do I just keep putting money into it? Has anyone else had these problems?

My abs pump went out as well. I have several friends that have had the same thing happen on their 99s. We just unplugged the abs pump and kept on truckin.
