Starter just clicks how to get to it?

Hi Have a British rhd, 2.5 1995 cheerokee ltd 4wd which just clicks when trying to start assume starter motor problem or cables to it but looks a nightmare to get to the motorksny advise on how to get access or advise on why just clicks, battery is fully charged.

you can try hitting the starter if you dont have enough room use a long extension
or simular to tap/hit starter but you need to check for 12v at solonoid.
battery connections clean/tight.Good Luck

Will give it a hit could be stuck solonoide or pinnion but feel that I need to get the starter off and check on the bench need input from anyone whom has removed one befor, is it best to access from top of engine removing manifolds or from below removing anything that is in the way not worked on these cars befor and was given the car, Many thanks for the advise have a great day. Carl, Welcome to AF. It should be easier to access the starter from below.

You may also want to check, the positive battery cable, there have been a few that were corroded inside the insulation, as far as 10cm from the battery. Reduced voltage could cause your problem.
