b18c1 or b18c5 and a smog question

Ok so let me see if I have this right, the b18c1 is the american version from a integra gsr, and the b18c5 is the JDM type r version for right hand drive cars? ok if thats right which one would you want to put in a 95 ex sedan? I seen a ex sedan running in the low 13s at the strip and shit myself so now I want to do it. Also what problems would I run into smoging them in california? Im not concerned with the money factor right now.

Thanks
Super Nate

USDM GSR=B18C1
JDM GSR (SiRG)= B18C
USDM ITR = B18C5
JDM ITR = B18C

To get a sedan to run 13's you'd " probably " need something better. If these are your only options I'd go with the GSR. There's more room for improvement compared to the finely tuned Type R.

Agree with probably, you can do high 13's in EX with a GSR,but it will take a little effort.

I actually meant " most likely " now that I look at it cause not even a C5 will get you there but hey gut all the interior and boost........it's possible.

A B18C1/5 can get into the 13's,not on it's own you have to do some work. And a US spec motor can be smogged no problem.

When you say not on its own you really mean......

When you say not on its own you mean some kind of boost, like a turbo, and or a shot of nitrous?:cwn27: Or can I still do it NA? Oh and what kind of suspension setup is good for drag racing in front wheel drive cars? I have some neuspeed sport springs and a set of kyb agx struts and shocks. Will they work?

Thanks

If you want it to smog in CA then stay away from JDM engines. Not much of a chance unless you want to hot smog it. Or you're Melt and you get away with a ZC in a 4th gen.
