Yes it is. The F60 is more or less the code name now. Even though the name says Enzo it is known as the next car in the series...i.e. the GTO, F40 and F50.

the name comes from ferrari anniversaries. the f40 was on the 40th the f50 on the 50th. it is still a little early for the 60 so ferrari went with enzo instead of going with f60. it is still referred to as f60 by many enthusiasts.

I heard somewhere on here another theory about why they called it the Enzo instead of the F60. If they keep using the F series, people might come to expect a brand new super-car from them every 10 years. And they aren't in the best financial position to do that.

Yellow's right...they released a comment to the press that calling it the F60 would mean that enthusiats (sp?) would expect a new super car every 10 years. and since ferrari isnt doin so hot financially they werent sure if they could do it or not. but the enzo has treated them well and the buisness is starting to recovr.

It has to be seen in person to be appreciated. I didn't care for it all that much, but when it came to the Houston Auto Show and I saw it with my own two eyes I fell in love with it.

What are you talking about???? The Enzo is the Enzo....That was the journalist who started naming this car the F60...but Ferrari HAD no intention naming this car the F60. Cuz the 60th anniversary of Ferrari is in 2007 and thats went the F60 will be made.

I'm not gonna try and get in some heated debate about this. I really don't know why you singled me out when everyone else in here knows the same thing I do. Look at the F40 and F50, the F40 was released in '87, the F50 in '95. Was that ten years;no. If you have read any magazines, this car is being credited as the succesor to the 288 GTO, F40, and F50. Just b/c that website claims an F60 is due out in 2007 doesn't mean anything, a lot of what you read on the internet is false info anyway. It wouldn't make sense for Ferrari to have this $670,000 car(of course going for far over market value) be followed by another half a million dollar car so shortly after. With the struggling financial situation of the company now, that project could run them into the financial blackhole.

Okay so ..the F50 was released in 1995 ..wow 2 years before the 50 th anniversary.... theres still 4 years for Ferrari to make a F60...They have plenty of time...and I am sure they did the sketches of the car/. ..So now I don't get the idea of naming this Enzo F60 at the same time. I post a lot at supercars.net ..and they have all the same opinions like me. And all those magazines you read...its impossible that the all say this car is F60-Enzo...are you sure those magazines are not some old ones like 2000-2001?....

I remember reading I magazine back in 2001 ...the JOURNALIST was telling us that Ferrari are planning of making a new supercar..That would be called the F60. ....AND THERES Still no official name from Ferrari.

After that ..Ferrari ...named this car the Ferrari FX...When it was showned at Japon..

And then the named it the Ferrari Enzo....

So Ferrari ...had FX (just a code name) like name and then the Enzo. They never mention F60..

Do you know Enzo Ferrari (dead) , the man who created Ferrari? ...Anyways this car was build for him on his name....AND not to celebrated the 60th anniversary at the same time...
