airbag lite problem 1992 town car

ever since i got my 1992 the airbag lite has blinked. it will blink 7 times, then stop for a second then blink 7 times. do any of you know what that error means.

Interesting.... The 1992 manual doesn't include code 77 in the diagnostic subroutines.

The charts show lamp codes:
None (no lamp)
Solid (continuous lamp)
12, 13, 14
21, 22, 23, 24
32, 33, 34, 35
41, 42, 44, 45
51, 52, 53
99 (1) *continuous fast flashing

But no 77

i went back to my car to make sure i counted right and now the airbag light isn't flashing. sometimes after i drive it a while it goes off but then the next morning it usually comes on again. so next time is starts to blink again i make sure to double check the number of times it blinks

i finally remebered to count the flashes. and the airbag light just keeps flashing 7 times non stop. any help would be awesome the light is driving me nuts.

I sometimes have this problem with my 91 TC. Its done it for over 2 years now and hasnt appeared to cause any problem. But i guess if i get in a crash and my air bag doesnt deploy ill know why lol.

You might try calling a dealer service department, asking what code 77 means on your 1992 TC, maybe they'll refer you to some expert -

All I can see on this subject is the 1992 diag. charts. and procedures.
I'd love to post a 77 procedure, but there isn't one

well last weekend we went to a weeding in another town and my dad was driving and i noticed the light blinking 10 times over and over again. and now that my check engine light keeps comming on less than a minute after i start it usually under a minute, then goes off after like 30 seconds. anyway i am going to take my car into a shop i know does good work and he will hook it up to a computer and see what the problem is for $45, i get a discount through my friend. so maybe next week i'll finally know why the airbag light blinks and check engine light comes on.

on my 91 the air bag light will come on during the bulb check and then turn off normally but i noticed it will blink ocaisionally(usually over uneven road surfaces) and then one day i noticed that the sensor on the inside of the front left fender wasnt bolted down all the way so i bolted it down tight and the light stopped blinking

Hi, I have a '95 TC and it has a flashing code too, don't remeber if it's 52 or 53 (i'll check that later to be sure), but what does each of these two codes mean? Thanks in advance.
