98 grand cherokee hard starting
1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L I6
I am having problems with hard starts. In the morning the Jeep starts fine. But after I park it and let it sit for an hour or so it takes a good 5-6 seconds before it starts up. When I shut it right off and let it sit for 15 minutes or so, it starts back up normally. I have replaced both the camshaft position sensor (AKA pick up coil under the distributor cap), crankshaft position sensor, oxygen sensors, plugs and wires, cap a rotor. At this point I am suspecting the fuel pump. However, this does not happen ALL the time, but it does happen at least once a day. I thought it was the fuel pump but with the engine off, I poked the Shrader valve and fuel squirted out. So it is not like fuel is draining out of the lines once I shut the Jeep off. And when my roommate turns the key on while I am poking the Shrader valve, gas immediately squirts out. So I don't think it is the fuel pump but it might be? I need all the help I can get. Thanks!

Re: 98 grand cherokee hard starting
Well, since no one knew what was going on, I can say that I figured it out. It was a bad coolant temperature sensor. So if anyone has the same symptoms I had, you should replace that first since it is only $15.
