Completed: Ferrari F40 Track

Hi again folks!

I can see that 2010 has been a very productive year for me in terms of modeling! Some of you might remember: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=941624 which I started many moons ago.I finally completed it last week and decided to go with different color instead of TS-30 Silver Leaf to give it a bit more character.

Can you guess what color this is?

One thing that I forgot is to paint the hood straps in flat black.

I decided to use Michael's heat shield for the rear bumper.

I replaced all of the plastic parts for roll cage with polished aluminum tubing.

Thank you for looking!

Beautiful work! We rarely get to see builds of the mighty track edition of the F-40 but yours satisfies the hunger quite nicely!!! Your attention to detail is truly terrific! Thanks for sharing! I look forward to your next completion!

I do remember you starting this beast. Came out really good. Color combo with the wheels is spot on. What pe mesh is that in the back (around the rear lights)?

This is an awesome F40, well done!

Did you paint the F40 badge on the right-side of the rear wing by hand? ...

Re: Completed: Ferrari F40 Track

Thanks for the comments! I really enjoyed this build, even though it took me a year on and off... mostly off

That's my new favorite TS-85 with TS-30 undercoat, it looks orange under some lights and looks red under other lightings. Confusing really

Tonio! Thank you for your comments, I wonder why people don't build more of these. The only pain I had was eliminating the window sills from the glass and attaching styrene to the body instead.

Thanks! PE mesh is from Tamiya and included in the kit.

Yes, it is the Monte-Shell version, which is a lot better than the regular F40 because it includes nice Cartograph decals and PE sheet!

TS-85 is the prescribed color for Ferrari F60 and it's called Bright Mica Red. It looks just like TS-8, but with tiny metallic flakes. It's beautiful really.

Very clean and cool. The car looks fabulous with black wheels and red highlight.
