95 caprice stalls when cold

I have a 95 caprice 4.3 V8. When backing out of the driveway the other day i let off the gas about mid way up and the car didnt keep a consistent idle sound. It reved on its own after i let off the gas and then stalled. i started it up and it did the same thing again. also when leaving work everyday it dooes the same rev thing like explained above, when accelerating in first and then taking my foot off the gas it will rev but does not stall. But when leaving work it is a flat surface, not a hill like my driveway. Anyone have any idea what this mite be?

idle issues are usually vacuum leaks this includes the PCV and all its hoses ...need a vac guage to check for leaks ....do not use any carb cleaner then you will have leaks for sure ...

if you have fixed all these leaks then removal of the IAC and then with throttle body cleaner you can clean this componet seat and the bore it goes into ..do this when cold and use a tooth brush to gently brush the surfaces ....use a hair dryer to evap the chemicals don't flood the engine intake and the start engine not good....

If i had a vacuum leak would that show up on a computer scan? My buddy owns a shop and he scanned the computer and nothing came back.

If you have a vacuum leak idle issues are the norm ...

computer dtc's possible if bad enough ,,,see the computer would not know where the leak is ,,, this is where the tech must get his hands dirty and with a vacuum guage test the lines / manifold for the vacuum leak[s]..

Im not sure what vacuum lines are or where they are. How much or how long mite it take a mechanic to check all the vacuum lines? And how expensive is it to replace them?
