Where to ID options from VIN

Hi all,
Wondering if there is a website you could steer me to that I can check the options on a new Infiniti from a VIN? I'm interested in a local '07 listed in Ebay but some of the options the seller is listing don't match the packages available on Infiniti's website. Just want to verify the options package on the vehicle.

Thanks.

Re: Where to ID options from VIN

I could be wrong but I don't think you can tell directly from the VIN itself what options the car has. The VIN usually tells the location it was built, the year, and type of car (coupe, sedan, etc). But you could probably give the VIN to a dealer and they might be able to tell you what options that particular car came with from the info in their database.

Any Infiniti dealer should be able to tell you options as well as service history. The VIN tells everything Andy said plus sometimes indicates engine type and sometimes suspension type.

Andydg is correct. You can't get any information about optional equipment from the VIN. The VIN only tells you where the car was built, who built it, what model and trim level the vehicle is, what the engine is, and (sometimes) what the transmission was from the factory.

Who are these typical fools that add comments to message boards that have no idea what they are talking about? Their is a great deal to tell from VIN#, depending on the vehicle and make. It is the number that the vehicle carries throughout the assembly process. It actually will tell you the original color of the vehicle. I only wish that more intelligent people would respond to questions or police message boards for idiots.

You are so right,,, and I like to add that while outdated posts are interesting reading, only a typical fool will respond rather than start a new thread on the subject.
