Pics of my in progress Fairlady Z (S30 type)
This is one of my babies. I'm aiming for a "drifter with more money than most, but not a ton" look. It's based off of Fujimi's "Wangan Midnight" kit (their stock Fairlady with a nice airdam and set of fender flares) and has many parts kitbashed from a Revell BRE Datsun 240Z. The color is a mix of Model Master Copenhagen Blue, Testors "square bottle" Silver, and Model Master Arctic blue. The engine, if you can tell, has the "bundle of snakes" header and three Weber two-barrel setup from the BRE kit and is finished (right now) in Model Master Metalizer aluminum/steel mix. The interior is fairly kit stock, except for the driver's seat swiped from a Revell/Dragon Porsche 911GT1 Evo. There's going to be a harness with photoetch buckles soon enough, if you're wondering.
What you see here is one of my favorite bits of work on the whole car. Since the Fujimi kit has a rather lousy front suspension, I spliced in the sway bar from the BRE kit and scratchbuilt new trailing links. It'll all be lost once there's a coat of matte black on it, so now is actually the best time to see the work. I'm proud of this one. I think it best represents my philosophy of clean lines and superlative engine mods instead of over-the-top body mods. What do you all think?

The body is very VERY accurate and the new airdam fits well. The flares, though, leave a bit to be desired. I only used the rears.
