Suspension Clunk

Hey Guys,

Having sort of an odd suspension clunk in the GTP lately. Driving down the road, turning corners, fine. Driving straight and hit a moderate bump, you can hear a slight clunk. Sometimes even if I am braking and hit a bump big enough to make it clunk, I can feel the clunk in the brake pedal. But not like a brake pulsation, more like a body clunk. It happens at any speed I am going.

All four struts and mounts have 30k approx on them, ac-delco. Stabilizer bar is a new GMPP with new busings and new endlinks, and controll arms are new Delco's with new bushings and new ball joints at about 40k ago.

The clunk does not always happen, only defiantly noticable on moderate to hard bumps like where the frost made bumps in the road.

I am almost wondering if my lower trans mount may be the cause.

Approx 140k on her already. Had her for the past 70k...

Any ideas?

Re: Suspension Clunk

cradle bolts loose??

could you verify the eng/trans mounts by opening hood and watching engine movement and feeling for clunk while doing a small brake stand?

Starting to hate that stuff. Getting nightmares where I'm entangled in chassis ear wires.

Cradle bolts are not loose. But thats a good thought, are there cradle bushings?

don't think so.
That is a tough one! Was originally thinking control arms but that is already ruled out. Some wizard on this site will figure it out.
