1992 lesabre trouble code 17

Hi all,
The other day I was driving down the road, and the engine just quit. The check engine light came on for a brief second, then went out and hasn't been on since. Tried restarting it and all it would do is crank, it wouldn't pop off. Eventually got it pushed off the road, tried starting it again and it fired right up. Drove it home, then went and got gas, all while not shutting it off. Then went home, parked, and shut it down. Tried restarting, and nothing, it would crank, but wouldnt pop off. So I did some reading, and thought it could be the icm. So I took it off, and had it tested at two different parts stores, it passed both times. So I put the icm back on, drove the car to a store and hooked a code reader to it. I got code 17. Some info about the car is....92 lesabre, 3.8 L, 184000 miles. If u need any other info let me know, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

issues with the 92 i have one it has 176000 on it first thing is when it quits check fuel pressure could be pump then if pressure is 35 to 38 its good then other issues are crank position sensor it gives the same issues when it quit check for spark if no spark it that try running another code reading and get back with us

Re: 1992 lesabre trouble code 17

There is a code 17... Its for the Spark Reference Circuit

This code sets when the PCM sees 240 fuel pulses( 80 crank revolutions ) but sees no spark reference pulses...

This is either an issue with the crank sensor, ICM or the wiring between them...

Fuel pressure should be 41-47 PSI on the Vin L 3800
