95 Jimmy remote oil lines

I'm wondering if anyone has replaced the oil lines from the motor to the filter? I can't see where the lines are connected to the engine or how to get to them. Any help would be greatly appreciated..Jeff

Follow the lines back along the driver side edge of the oil pan. They change to aluminum near the front of the engine. There is one 13mm bolt attaching them to the oil filter adapter. Easiest if you get underneath.

I can see the ones on the oil filter adapter, I can;t see where the ones are that are atatched to the motor. Can you get to them through the wheel well?

Re: 95 Jimmy remote oil lines

The oil filter adapter mounts to the engine, the remote lines attach to the adapter. The oil filter attaches to the remote mount which is under the center of the radiator. The cooler lines run to and from the remote mount to the radiator tank on the driver side. You'll need to get under the vehicle to to service the oil filter adapter and or line connection. It's very close to where the transmission bolts to the engine block, on the driver side. Not pretty to get to, but it can be done.

Re: 95 Jimmy remote oil lines

There are threads in the "How-to" section that tell how to do it. There are some that tell how to modify them so they won't leak again. If you choose to replace them, rather than modify them, do yourself a favor and use the ones made by Dorman, they last a little longer than the OEM lines.

Re: 95 Jimmy remote oil lines

While you are there, you might as well replace the oil filter adapter O-ring and gasket. I have been there many a time. The adapter bolts to the block where the oil filter is typically mounted with only 2 bolts and is a simple job, as long as you have your lines already off. It costs a few dollars for the O-ring & gasket from FelPro and it will save you many frustrations of having to do part of the slimy, greasy, messy task all over again.
