2005 Astro rear end clunk upon takeoff

I went an test drove a 2005 Astro(AWD). When I accelerate in drive (from a dead stop) the rear end makes some sort of clunk noise. The vehicle has
48000 miles. I started and stopped multiple times to see if it was repeatable, it was. I want to buy this astro, I currently has a safari with
220,000 miles.Looking for an answer. Tom

Is there a vibration when driving? Could possibly be a bad universal joint.
