Re: violent shake at 55-65 mph!!!!!!!!

Welcome to AF.

Has it been snowing where you are ?
If ice/snow is inside the rim it can cause this shaking due to being off balance.

If that's not the case, then your tire could be out of balance or a busted belt, you could have a bent rim.

Hope that helps!

Re: violent shake at 55-65 mph!!!!!!!!

i know its not anything to do with the wheels some one told me that it could be the lock up solenoid but im not sure cause it has never stalled when im stopping it gets real quiet when i do though. it also has a miss fire and i replaced the egr, maf, the coil and the plugs and wires and i still can figure out the miss fire!!!!

Could be the trany.
Get it scanned at a transmission shop Or somewhere that can scan for trans codes.
If it's the tcc , it would show a code.

on the misfire, get the Ignition control module tested.

see thats one of the problems with scaning it, ive tried it with 3 different scaners and each time none of them can even read anything it just comes up with an error it sucks, but i will check out ignition control module

check the injectors. thats a common cause of misfires yet often overlooked.

What was it scanned with, a free scan at your local auto store ?
They wont show anything that would be trans or ABS related, thier scan tools realy suck and dont show much of anything.

You'd need a trans & ABS capable scan tool.
Also a misfire wont cause your car to shake violently at highway speeds.

Re: violent shake at 55-65 mph!!!!!!!!

i never said it would cause the shaking, its clearly a seperate problem. im just stating a common cause of one of the issues at hand.

I think we need a better definition of what “shaking” is here. Is it tire shake, (suspension) or engine shake? This makes a big difference!
