96 grand out of alignment comes and goes

hi i had a new tie rod put on the 96 grand caravan was driving ok for a week now yesterday the steering wheel was jerking and pulling me both directions is that the tie rod coming loose or could it be something else?

sounds like some suspension component is worn. A suspension inspection should have been done during the alignment after tie rod replacement. The check is part of an alignment service. Did you do an alignment?

no i didnt i had garage do it it was part of the safety inspection and they had replaced that the tie rod end

can i see this worn or broken part without lifting van?

is it dangerous to drive as i got a 2 hour drive to toronto tommorow to sick kids hospital

The condition your describing...when does it happen? highway speed? slower speeds turning? Is the condition intermitant or always there?

If a safety inspection was just done then the rest of your suspension components would have been checked at this time.

so far it only happened once, i was driving highway speed of 80km/hr and i was driving straight then jst all of a sudden it started jerking the steering wheel mostly to the left but still back and forth had to use 2 hands to control it now it lasted for a good 20 min till i got home i was half way home

i tested it yesterday drove a few kms but no problems

wondering if its a faulty power steering spool valve? did it feel like the power steering system turning the wheel. typically would feel like; when you turn wheel left it wants to keep turning the steering wheel left....when you correct right it wants to keep going right and so on

now that i cant remember cuz it only happened the 1 time so far i just remember it jerking the wheel both ways even when i took hands off wheel u could see it jerk the steering wheel both directions so i dunno
