Loose steering wheel and problems when doing a complete turn
My steering wheel is a little bit loose and today when I turned it all the way to one side I heard a weird noise, when I started going straight I noticed (clearly) that the steering wheel was turned even though the car was going straight. So I forced it all the way to the other side (heard again the weird noise) to "fix" it (and it worked)... Any idea about what's going on?
Thank you in advance for your help! |

Re: Loose steering wheel and problems when doing a complete turn
it could possibly be that your steering column has broke. i would look at that first. if not there make your way up the steering shaft towards the steering where and see if there is a break in the linkage.

sounds like the nut is loose..if you have an air bag the access screws are hidden under a cover on the sides of the wheel.. if no air bag its hidden under the 'H'

also there is a "u" joint down at the floor with a set screw to hold the column to the rack. it actually sounds like the bolt is gone and the noise your hearing is the teeth slipping
