BMW's suck

I raced a BMW this weekend. I kicked its ass. By the way, I agree. The new models are going in the wrong direction. Take a look at the car market:Mostly SUV's and sport cars. I don't see how BMW will even stay in business if they keep going in their current direction.

are you serious???? i'm a fan of hondas myself (i assume that's what you raced it with, since you listed that your car is an accord), but i do recognize the merit in other cars. i would looooooove to be able to own an m3 or an m5, and bmw has entered the SUV market as well, so how is that headed in the wrong direction??? they've actually expanded their product line to include these markets as well without losing the classic BMW luxury appeal. that said, not every consumer is a teenager looking to soup up a car with ridiculous amounts of power, which even i will admit is definitely fun, but most people don't know how to handle. in fact, most of those kids couldn't even afford a bimmer if they wanted one. BMW directs their efforts towards those people who recognize the class and quality they get with BMW, which apparently doesn't include you.

if you raced a BMW and won, i suspect that either a. the BMW driver wasn't truly trying to race you, and you were just stopped at a light with one and took off while the Bimmer minded its own business, and you considered it 'racing' or b. you put tons of mods on your car (with money that you could have used to buy a BMW yourself probably), and the Bimmer was bone stock. Just like the dude above said, let's compare apples with apples here. If you want to race a modded car with a modded car, well, i've seen plenty of BMW's and Mercedes that i'm sure could spank your accord too.

it's not my intention to flame anybody, but i'm sick of this import vs. domestic, and jap vs. euro crap....there are some really wicked cars in all of those catagories, and there are cars that suck a$$ in each of them too...a true car enthusiast is able to recognize that.

There has been someone bouncing around the forums with multiple user names bashing BMW's. Sometimes it seems like its BMW against all in the U.S. A lot of the U.S. car mags compare everything to BMW which just fuels the fire. The whole thing is just stupid.

Yep, red flag went up when I saw which forum he/she posted under. Didn't even list model/equip... probably raced a 1974 beater!!! Even Newbies aren't this stupid.

Someone just has a beef with BMW... though I can't blame them considering reliability VS. price. My friend bought a brand new BMW 330i & has had nothing but problems since day one. Th new 745 is fugly (in my humble opinion); the X5 looks good but is cramped on the inside for a car that big; and the Z's are too slow compared to the Honda S2000.

Damn... one thing gets me and i have to ask you... why do you say the Zs are slow compared to the S2000? The M-Roadster has 321 hp and the Z8 has 400 hp... they both beat S2000s with no problems... I think that the Z3 3.0 VS S2000 would be a fair comparsion... 231 hp 3.0 R6 bmw VS the wild reving honda's L4 2.0 240 Hp... But the M version... unless the BMW driver can't drive a S2000 won't catch it...

ha ha ha. We have never been beating by an Audi. We had the 1984 735i, a 1989 535iSE, a ALPINA B12, 540i touring and now have a 850i. I like Audis but love BMW's. The R audis are fast.

You mean S audis? Or RS audis? Damn a Alpina B12... nice... i would get an M5 probably but the local service/dealership is run by thieves/cheaters they'll do anything to get your money and don't give it back...

I drive a 95 M3. Screw audis, j/k. The new bmws are crazy mofo fast! M3 and M5!! But I do like the A4 with 2.7 liter quattro. Slap a turbo on that and boom, where is it?! ......But slap a Turbo on a 95 or 96+ M3, boom, you wouldn't be able to see what car it is?! More torque!!

If I could drive one car for the rest of my life it would be an M5 with a throaty V8 and a nice sound system...to me, life doesn't get much better than that.
