Thumbs up Rear wont slip out P11

wife was out with her girlfriends tonite, so took out my G for a spin. hehehe. cops everywhere, but found a few spots I could really take the G hard. there's a few s-curve+1 curve expressway exits and entrances which I usually take really fast on my lude. took about 5 rounds going as fast as I could on the G (this is da first time I took the car as hard as I could consecutively) damn, couldn't get the rear to spin out. and Im only using RE910 junk potenza's. well, yah, got the TEIN's so they help, but damn, I tried all sorts of off apex off angle off acceleration turns which woulda spun out most cars but the G was stuck to the ground. one time the G did slide, but it was neutral going perfectly sideways so it was easy to control.

had a good time. could use another 50hp, but it wasnt too bad even with the AT.

Future mods: dressup wheels with Potenza S03 225/45/17 tires, TurboXS UTec, maybe an uppipe. by then, it'll be fast enough.

That's because of the POS log rear axle. Mike Kojima found it to have a quarter inch of toe-in!

He has a friend at a shop in LA that has a fixture to properly bend it to whatever setting you'd like (best to get 0 toe).

Not having the rear end kick out isn't necessarily a bad thing. My car can kick out the rear end on command But sometimes it does it not on command too Especially when i have lots of stuff (or more than usual) in the trunk, it then likes to kick out much easier, many times by suprise! (especially to the passengers )
I've also read really good things about the bending of the rear beam. A couple people in California have done it (well, two to my knowledge) and the one who has had track time since, really likes the results.

I wouldn't call it a POS! But yeah I had my alignment checked and I had about 3 degrees of toe in. It makes for hard rotation. But in a daily commuter having the ass firmly planed during emergency manuvers is probably a good thing considering how the friggin general public drives now days. Seems like anyone can get a damn licence to go bombing down the road in their 6000lbs SUV's. But I digress.

I've managed to get the back to rotate once at the auto-x course during some massive trailbreaking. It felt sweet but it's really hard to do. I'm going to try and fine someone here in TO that can maybe bend the beam for me. Plus the wheelbase is so friggin long, but that's another issue all together.

The rear toe on the T4 P10 is adjustable via the rear paralell link which has a threaded portion in the middle . Not really relevant but just thought I'd throw it in there.:o

All P10s have an adjustable rear end.

It's obviously a superior car. :right:

A quote from Mike Kojima from the SE-R Mailing List:

"Darrin Nishimura at Southside Alignment (The best
Chassis guy around) and I, are going to figure out a
way to do this without damaging the axle. We figure
that the torsion bar has to be coupled to the outside
housing to be bent as a unit."

They have since figured it out and Darrin has a jig to bend the axle to correct the toe-in.

In the latest issue of Sentra Online Magazine:

http://www.sentra.net/solm/november01/westend.shtml

I'll have to try and find a really good shop around here that can duplicate this. Driving to Cali for this would suck. -
