94 caprice wont start

My 94 wont start, fuel pump is workin Sometimes when I try and start it it will run on a few cylinders and die. I did initally get it started back up but it was runnin real rough and I killed the engine. I checked all plug, opti-spark and coil wires all are ok. I think it may be a bad coil or opti spark. Then after several tries i smelled fuel, I can hear fuel in the exhaust on the drivers side when someone tries to start it. Nothing on passenger side. Any Ideas???

Re: 94 caprice wont start

the fuel pressure is to be checked 45 psi approx. then the coil for corroded connections remove clean and reinstall..

check that the water pump is not leaking on the opti distributor.

disconnect the maf connector see if it starts. check the resistance of the ECT for correct temperture/resistance..
