Turbo question.

Buddy of mine just upgraded his turbo and sold me the stock he had. It's a T25. I have a 95 eclipse with 420a. My question is. It's hard finding everything I need to get it running. The only turbo headers I can find are for a T3 and a T4, will that still bolt up with mine? The bolt patterns are the same (4 bolts).

I been going to Punishmentracing.com to add up the prices but most the stuff there are for the 4g63. Any1 know any other websites to buy what I need for the 420a, or will most the 4g63 stuff fit?

Thanx

P.S Can any1 at all help me with a list of everything I need. I know I need the following.

Turbo Header
Wastegate
BOV
Downpipe
Computer to run turbo
Intercooler

Nearly all manifolds for the 420a are t3/4 flanged. You can make or probably buy an adapter somewhere for the Mitshu housing flange. Not worth it IMO since it is only a T25.

Just about nothing from the 4g63 will work for the 420a.

Check out my ESi to Turbo build in the projects section. Has a list of all the parts and everything. Basically need:
-turbo
-manifold
-downpipe
-oil lines
-FMU/SFMU
-Wastegate
-BOV
-Intercooler piping
-Intercooler (Sidemount of FMIC)
-Boost Gauge

The guy that sold me the turbo said he will help out if I need it. I did try to google but nothing was coming up much for the 420a. Loads of 4g63 of course.

Oh if I put the turbo behind the back wheel instead of by the manifold, will it decrease boost? My buddy has his like that on his SI but I would think it would be better closer to the manifold. But I have to say it sounds great back there when it spools up..hehe

Re: Turbo question.

If you feel like running everything to the back of the car, then knock yourself out. Just FYI, there's not a lot of space to do all that. Also seems like when you have turbo back there, the turbo drain line is suddenly lower than the oil pan, causing the oil to back up back to the turbo and cause excess wear bearings. Easier and better IMO to mount off the manifold, but again, entirely your call. Run a non-restrictive exhaust and you can hear the turbo just as loud out the back then too.

Re: Turbo question.

If you put the turbo in the back you have to have an oil pump to push the oil back to the pan

Re: Turbo question.

Seriously? Why would you even consider putting it in the back when your manifold is on the front? Don't make things harder than it needs to be...

Re: Turbo question.

On some applications remote mount turbo setups are great, and effiecient. STS makes awesome remote mount kits.

But on your car, theres no reason not to run it off the manifold.
