where to buy just a body from?

hey i want to buy a body of a muscle car and i wasn't sure where i could find one. i checked my local dealers, junk yards, and adds in the newspaper and found nothing. i was really lookin for a 72 chevelle body style but alot of others will work. is there some website out there or do i just have to widen my search and wait till i get lucky?

Re: where to buy just a body from?

I think you can get new reproduction body shells for some popular models (ie 67-69 Camaro)..... not just panels, but the entire shell.

They're pretty expensive, though. Otherwise, you may have to look for an entire car. Possibly you may find someone's already stripped parts car, though, for cheap$$. The US southwest is probably the best place to find a rust free one.

Have you tried Dynacorn? They make reproduction muscle car bodies. I don't know how big your selection will be but I do know they have a 67 fastback reproduction body. Its probably pricey though.
Heres a link that might help.

Ebay motors can you get you a cheap one but most likely the entire car and be prepared to do some metal work. Sorry i can't help more but either you buy cheap and have some work ahead of you or you buy expensive and get a exactly what you want.

Look at carsonline.com in the project cars section, or just get a repro body from yearone.com
