'96 Park Avenue - Not starting... Mass Air Flow?

So, my Park Avenue was running great.. It would start right up, and ran fine.

Then, when I went to leave work, it would crank and crank, not fire at all. I had the fuel pump and I believe the Crankshaft Position Sensor replaced a couple of years ago, and over the summer I replaced the ignition control module and the coils.

I was going to try squirting starting fluid in there, and pulled out the Mass Air Flow Sensor, in order to have better access to squirt it in there, and I noticed that one of the filaments on the sensor was broken, and the bottom part of the sensor is still in there..

So, will this keep the car from firing? I figured that would make it run rough, but I didn't think it would do this...

Thanks,

Bob

it very well could , if you hit on a weak (MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR) with a ratchet handle or say screwdriver handle it will kill the engine this is easy way checking for weak (MAS) so with it broken inside it could stop it from starting ! Danny
