Stuck in 4x4 2000 Jimmy envoy -

Okay .. my 4x4 was not working for a while I bought a new module that goes behind right hand passenger kick panel I found a lot of corrosion on wiring harness connector. Clened it as best I could installed new module - used dash switches and it seemed to work ONCE fine as a test.

Recently tried the selector switch, it would not switch when i pushed 4 HI - i pressed 4 wheel auto and it shifted into 4x4 but will not shift out of it now... it will go into 4 LO if I put it in park, and will shift back to 4x4 auto - but 2 hi button LED will not light and will not switch to 2 hi - AT ALL - turning corners at low speed i can tell its in 4x4- despite selector switch saying Auto.

Is there any way to jumper it - reset it and just get it back to 2 hi... until I can trouble shoot it...?

p.s reason for replacing module was it would not shift at all ... may work fine and might have just had corrosion on it. Service 4 wheel drive light is one periodically.

Have you tried checking for the proper fluid level in the t-case. They seem to be rather sensitive to proper level. My tail shaft seal was leaking for sometime dropping the level to a point that the t-case was coming out of 4 wheel no matter what mode I put it in. My friends ZR2 would not come out of 4 wheel unless he held the two wheel button in and drove in reverse. Ended up being a fluid level also.

just to report back to help others...

Got it back into 2 hi- played with control module plug (behind right hand lower kick panel) several times pure persistence - for I'd say an hour or so .. still not working ... left truck from disgust .. came back 30 mins later and tried the switch and it was working !!!

it went back into 2 hi and I decided best to leave well enough alone and never tried to switch it again for fear it might get stuck..
