ECM/CPI Question for 93 Blazer 4.3 Vortec.

OK I bought my truck 1 1/2 years ago. It's been running great up until 1 week ago. Started having electrical issues. Anyhow, I pull the ECM and have part# 16196395 BBNT. So I'm looking on E-Bay for another ECM. I'm seeing alot of ECM's with the same number, but with BHRJ at the end. I do know my 4.3 was a transplanted motor. So how can I make sure I get the right ECM for my truck? What number can I get off the engine to ensure that I get the proper ECM for it? I'm not sure this was the original ECM to begin with, and since the motors were swapped, I may be looking at the ECM that came with the motor transplant. I may not be... I'm confused now. Electrical crap is way beyond my realm of mechanical knowledge. So just in case I need this part, I want to make sure I have the right one! Thanks.

Re: ECM/CPI Question for 93 Blazer 4.3 Vortec.

The ECM goes by service no. not other no on it.
And if is changed you need to use your old prom out of old one.
And make sure someone has not put the wrong no ECM in it.
About the only way to be sure is have dealer run VIN No.

Get it on a scanner and ID prom no and post back service no and prom ID and what Blazer and what engine code you have.
I will see if I can find that no listed for it.

Is this a big one or a S-10 Blazer?
But before throwing parts at it.
First check for the problem.
What is it doing or not doing?
How is it acting up?
Cold, warm,hot or all time?

Any check engine lights or codes?

The thread about my issues is listed in this sub section as electrical issues... No need to side track this thread with the same info, right? The part number is the service number. Serv. No. 16196395 BBNT Is what was in it. My truck is a 93 S-10 Blazer. Thanks for your reply.

For a 93 S-10 blazer I do not see that no emc listed.
But it could be a updated no.
Better have the dealer run VIN no for correct ECM and prom.
