how much gas is still in tank after empty?

On the 4dr blazer '95 manual says it is a 19 gallon tank and many times I put 19 gallons in the tank when re-fuelling. The question is this:

How much fuel is remaining in the tank after the electric fuel pump pumps it all out on level ground?

I think I remember pouring gas into an empty tank once and it took quit a bit of fuel to reach the electric pump , but I didn't measure it or write it down. duh.

I need to do some fuel blending and need to know the amount of gas in the so-called "empty" tank (after it pumps out)

this is very variable...if you need to blend do so with a 1/2 tank. Put 5 gallons of X with 3 gallons of Y as an example to blend ...I WOULD NOT USE THE FUEL GAUGE FOR BLENDING.

I WOULD NOT OPERATE BELOW 1/4 TANK ....unless you like replacing the fuel pump...

Maybe I should've chosen different words. I want to purge one fuel from the tank with another without draining it beyond what the pump will pump. I needed to know how much fuel remains in the tank after the fuel pump pumps all the liquid out.

well I do not agree with your method....to do this with out damage to your in tank pump you must use external pump to extract the fuel in the tank. you will never get an answer on this one as to how much is left when the in tank fuel pump stops flowing fuel...too variable..I would remove fuel as I described , then remove tank and see what you got left..

whats this some science project ?

No, I was blending ethanol with the gas. I just went with a guess of 1 gallon. I needed to know the exact % of each fuel when purging. Project is done now.

if you use the intank fuel pump to drain the tank you will need new fuel pumps very soon.. good luck with your science project.
