steering shaft

I have a 2008 HHR LT. I recently got the steering shaft replaced. When receiving my car back I noticed my alignment completely off, is this something they should have done after changing the steering shaft? I called the dealer, they are not trying to be helpful, trying to do my own research before going back and also can not find any websites. Much appreciated for any help.

Re: steering shaft

if it was the intermediate steering shaft that was replaced; the i-shaft to steering shaft was assembled 1 spine off center. The shaft isn't mastersplined and if not put back in the exact spline location the steering wheel will be off center. The dealer needs to move the shaft 1 spline over. If they move it the 1 spline and the steering wheel is off center the other way when driving; the front toe will need to be set (alignment).
