Angry Radiator?

I have a 97 Chev Venture, and I need to replace the radiator in it. However, I don't know for sure which one I need. I have the upgraded towing package in it, so therefore, I need a radiator with an oil cooler. I just called the local dealership and they said that all the info they can get is a part number, no specs. The same thing with any of the parts stores in town. They have a few specs such as size and how many rows, but nothing about an oil cooler. Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I would like to know A) where can I find at least a part number of a radiator with an oil cooler so I can cross-reference it, and B) does it matter if I put a radiator in that does not have an oil cooler? PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you.

Re: Radiator?

a chevy dealer should be able to tell from your vin # and your rpo codes which is for your van

Re: Radiator?

I assume you are talking about the transmission fluid cooler, correct? If this is the case, I would install the OEM radiator PLUS an aftermarket cooler. Check Pontiac Montana's forum here; some people have provided some very nice descriptions (with pictures) of such installation, parts, etc.

Re: Radiator?

According to the dealership, they dont get any info other than the part number. So, dealership is out for help. I will have a friend help me look at the cracked one and see what we can get that is close. Im just glad im not loosing too much fluid...yet.

Re: Radiator?

In 1997 the Ventures only had 1 radiator choice. There was no engine oil cooler in it just the transmission out cooler GM part #52472865 but it is discontinued the AC Delco #20862 the core size is 30 5/16 x 15 x 7/8" and the code is BCG on your old radiator.
