1996 C1500 Stall in drive

I have a 96 Chevy C1500 with the 4.3 and 4x4. The truck starts fine, idles fine, put it in neutral step on the gas and it revs fine, but when I put it in drive and step on the gas the truck dies. Where should I start to look?

Thanks

Welcome to AF, start checking fuel pressure, need 60-65 psi at the rail.

Torque Converter not unlocking? Can you start in neutral and have it roll forward, drop into gear?

Re: 1996 C1500 Stall in drive

if its a 4x4 then its a k1500 not a c1500. (not being an ahole just lettin u know)anyway i would check for trouble codes and technical service bulletins available at sights. just type in 96 k1500 tsb's on your search engine. then i would proceed in diagnosis like checking fuel pressure, and then plugs and wires.
