I gave up on finding Tamiya's pearl yellow so I got this instead, any tips?

Fine grain pearl yellow pigment

I assume all the instruction will be in Japanese and I've never used this stuff before. Does anyone know what I should do get the same finish as Tamiya's pearl yellow?

Mix the stuff with x-28 clear yellow? or x-8 lemon yellow?

I want to paint my Pennzoil NISMO in pearl yellow look at this:

It is so much nicer than TS-16 yellow.

I hope I can get the same finish with this powder.

Any tips is welcome.

Thanks!

I cannot find it. Is it in the "in progress" section? because that page is not showing off.

Anyway I'm not really crazy about metallic spray paint, I find the metal flakes too big for a scale model.

I've never tried it, but the way I've been told to do it is to spray a solid yellow first. After that dries, mix the metallic flakes with some clear coat or clear paint, then mist it on in very light coats until you get the desired effect. I think clear yellow would look best in this case. Then put a clear coat on it, polish, and wax. That's what I've been told, but the best thing I can tell you is to experiment. That'd be best.

You're right, if I can't get any tips from someone who actually used this exact product I guess I'll have to experiment.

anyway I'll post some pictures of my trials and some people could learn from it.

Spray your car with TS16 or TS Chrome Yellow, then mix some of the pearl powder in some TS Clear sprayed into a bottle, air brush a couple of coats on, then clear coat with straight TS clear and polish as usual.

Do you think I could mix the powder with future floor wax instead?

You can mix it in any clear, but you will have to spray it on to get it on evenly.

Sure, but you can't polish future very well in my experience. It always gets too soft and/or hazes.

Why not spray some Chrome yellow and put pearl over it? The Pearl is transparent, it will look like pearl yellow
