Plans to swap the motors

I would like to swap the altima v6 se-r motor into my 2004 sentra se-r. If anybody can help me find this type of motor and what other information i need to accomplish this swap.

Re: Plans to swap the motors

Well, the motor you're looking for is the VQ35DE, and they're still pretty damned expensive. Plus I'm pretty sure it won't even fit in a little Sentra. The QR25 is already stuffed in there pretty good.

Re: Plans to swap the motors

HA! revolution autoworks dropped a VQ35de into a 05 spec and it fit like a glove, you have to pull the engine to do any work on it though, all you need is custom motor mounts, a right drive axle from a b15 SE and a radiator from the SE as well....they are working on the parts and will sell it as a swap kit, you will pay extra for the motor

Actually, Forced Induction Racing dropped a VQ35DE into a Spec V for John from Rev Auto.. And FI-R is working on a swap kit.. I am allowing Rev Auto to sell my kit as well.

Re: Plans to swap the motors

no fender or firewall 'modification'? thats surprising.
the vq is wide as hell. even the z is cramped

Re: Plans to swap the motors

vq35 would school the sr20, turbo on mild boost and 100 shot you have yourself around 400whp, both of which the vq will handle easily, then build the internals and crank the boost up and youve got yourself a sentra that will pull vipers from a roll......making that much power out of a sr20 is possible but very expensive and time consuming

Re: Plans to swap the motors

fuck nitrous. get the hks twin turbo kit, build the internals, valvetrain, raise the rev limit to 9k or so and boost around 12 psi, youll walk ferraris

Re: Plans to swap the motors

travis was walking me through a full engine build pistons rods cams retainers everything, and a turbo kit, deliberatly told me to throw in a 100 shot, the vq eats nitrous like candy anyways, youre looking at like 650whp, if you could run the boost up pretty hard youd prolly even beat that, its a nasty engine to be putting in a go-kart like frame

Re: Plans to swap the motors

and about how much does one of these engines cost? im interested in it more than an sr20det now. but i dont understand how the turbo is going to fit in the engine bay along with the FMIC(well, if you decide to go that way..IMO i would)?without modification to the engine bay?
