Trunk Gasket

Hello all! Hoping that someone out there has already had to do this. My wife's 99 Intrigue needs to have the trunk gasket replaced. The gasket has split in the middle and separated the length along the bottom. The trunk now leaks water quite well.

I'm guessing that there is no good way to repair the gasket, so where is a good affordable place to buy a replacement? Also, are there any tricks to removing and installing a new one (adhesive?), or is it a simple pull off and re-install?

Thanks, guys!

Re: Trunk Gasket

The first place I'd check would be the local GM dealer . They should be able to get you the part . It will likely be expensive ! My second suggestion would be to do a Google search for " 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue weatherstripping " and see what comes up . I'm sure there is some place that sells this besides the dealer .

Re: Trunk Gasket

oldblu65 - Thanks for the reply. I ended up going to the local Pull-A-Part and got one in pretty good shape for $2, including the $1 "entrance fee". Worth a try. I did find what looked like a roll of the same basic material at JC Whitney, but I wasn't too confident in the flat roll making all of the bends and curves that this one does. We'll see how it goes!
