99 Explorer XLS

Hi, Just bought a 99 Explorer XLS with 5 speed standard and 4WD. I am wondering if there is a site where I can download the owner's manual for free. Also, what is AUTO mean for the 4WD selection? Thanks in advance.

Re: 99 Explorer XLS

Go to www.fleet.ford.com Click on maintenance tab and then owners manual. Enter your information and download manual. The auto selection is basically all wheel drive. If it detects one wheel slipping, it diverts power to keep you moving.

Re: 99 Explorer XLS

The site I use only has back to 2000. You might be able to use it though. Since yours is a 99, it may be close. Worth a look. Click on the PDF at bottom. If you enter the VIN in the box, it might go back farther.
