Question What swap is best for me?

Hey guys im looking to get a swap in my car and i want to know what you guys think would be best for me. I want a FAST car and will take me back and forth to work and take a 50-75 shot of spray with out blowing up. What do you think.

Man the B18A should be a B16A. How do I fix that?

Re: What swap is best for me?

i said b18 cuz that motor can take almost anything you put to it. with a good tune. we had a stock one in town that got up to 450hp with a stage 4 turbo kit T4 and this was all on stick internals. and it was a 10 sec car. on 25 psi.

My honda sits beind the shop with weeds growing though the cage.

I have a spair c32 bottom end if you'd like to buy it though, fair warning - honda wants almost five grand for the heads.

Re: What swap is best for me?

tsc is right. those r slow. a stock b18 doing 450? i wanna throw the bs flag on that one. the stock internals suck after 10 psi. from what i understand and even if he pulled it off it won't run good for long.
i say b20 vtec turbo!
just make sure to rebuild the whole block up.

Re: What swap is best for me?

Yeah you cant expect big numbers with totally stock parts. Not gonna happen. I said B20, because I think of all the B series its got the most potential (this is throwing out the issue of cost). Espicially if your gonna stay N/A but just pump nitros. Personally I'm trading in my B16 setup for a B20/B16(head) monster N/A (its gonna cost alot to totally rebuild the engine but im doin it). You could do forced induct on the B20 too, you'd just use different compression and quench etc etc, but for N/A yeah def B20. Only reason I don't recommend the D series is I don't know much about them, other than I hated them stock (slow).

The more I think about it the more I think B20. But will a B 20 stock not take a 50 shot? and how much would a full rebuild be? My friend had a teg with a b20 in it, he got spray but never put it on

Re: What swap is best for me?

I guess it depends on how 'nice' you wanna make it, because the way I've calculated mine is its almost 100% aftermarket except for the B16 head. I was looking at a aluminum B20B block by DART, that go for 2Gs alone, LOL. I'm not sure what the engines are as OE Honda, I'm guessing like 1000-2000 dollars for the engine with tranny? But as far as rebuilding, Eagle makes a bunch of rotating assemblies, built for pounding! For that your gonna dish out about 1,300. I'm not an expert on nitrous, so probably other people can fill you in more on WHAT exactly you have to rebuild/replace for a sweet Nitro setup.

Here's a place selling a bunch of different rotating assem variations: http://www.importperformanceparts.ne...curahonda.html

And here's the aluminum block if you wanna check it out : http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...0&autoview=sku

Re: What swap is best for me?

Ok but do I need to build my motor to put a vtec head on it? and if I just B20 it with bolt ons it will be fast for the street car rite? But how long will the motor last if I do that. You know, you can dog a B18 all day and night and still go to work all week and never break it. Is a B20 the same way?
