04 Accord Alarm Question

Hi All,
My 04 Accord has some sort of problem with the security system. One night, the alarm came on in the middle of the night. I got to the car but nothing was amiss and it did not appear anyone had tried to get in. I silenced the alarm, and since then the car does not "chirp" when you use the remote to lock the doors. It still locks and unlocks properly, it just does not make any sound. I parked on a back street the other day, and came out to a note on the window saying the alarm had been going off intermittently for the past few hours. Before I take the thing to Mr.Honda, does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks
