loud clacking ruff idle
I have a 99 beetel with a 2.0 it has 91000 miles on it its been well service.Driving it the other day it started to loose power and check engin light came on so i shut it down and had it towed home. looking at it i needed to replace the oil pump chain tensinor 12dollar item from the dealer.now i start the car and it clatters kinda loud and goes away.put the code reader on it came up with p0301 303 304 misfireing .i cant seem to get the car to run like it did befor need a lil help if anybody has any info it would greatful so frustrated .thank you in advance

did you replace the oil pump also or just the tensioner arm deal?
Check compression on the cylinders warm and cold. Common issue the rings fail. might need a re-ring job.

thank you for the reply the loud clacking sound was the oil pump.and the ruff idle happend to be the cam shaft pos sensor. go figure thank you .
