Post 96 K1500 wont start

my 96 will not even turn over i have no power goin to the starter when i put the key in the crank position. I have a new egnition swith and ignition module. Starter is good. Had a few ppl tell me it was the computer. iv done everything to fix it. the only way i can crank it is to get a screw driver and and hit it on the starter.

My chilton book shows either a purple wire or yellow wire coming from ign switch passing through neutral safety switch then to solinoid. If your switch is new make sure plug is in fully then check safety switch.

You could check the maxi fuse #6 under the hood to see if its good. The wire is yellow from the ignition switch to the clutch switch or neutral position switch and from there it is purple to the starter relay coil and on to the starter. I would start diagnosing the problem at the relay socket, with the key in the crank position you should have 12v at the A9 and B9 posts of the relay socket, A7 should be ground and B7 is the output to the starter. You could jumper A9 to B7 and see if it cranks. A9 should have 12v all the time and B9 should only have power with the ignition in the crank position
