'91 LX, had toasted transmission control unit (TCU), replaced it. Now every couple of days it goes into a limpy mode where the tranny has little pull unless you drop it into 3 or 2 and you can hand shift it fine. The S light comes on when the tranny goes bad, has a new speed sensor and CEL is on. Only code is 12, EGR. Reset the 7.5 memory fuse and it shifts correctly for a yet unknown number of cycles and may fail again. Also (code 12) - EGR vacuum is disconnected due to a voltage flucuation at the control solonoid causing a fluttery miss at 1500 rpm's. Could there be a (unheard of) limp mode on the tranny from the EGR code going for so long? Last edited by rjfranken; 10-10-2009 at 08:43 PM. |
