Go to Chevy parts dept and look at a new one while your at the location. I assume you will have to purchase a new one. If this is the case ask for instructions but I think you will need a manual. Napa may also sell the switches.

Very common problems in 00-05 Monte Carlos and impalas: The Multifunction switch is probably shot. could even cause you to loose all headlights all of a sudden one night while driving.

Re: 2002 Monte high beam light problem

I have a 2005 monte and one night a few months ago I was driving down a dark country road at 2am with my brights on. I would think that after 100 years we would perfect the headlght switch. But I guess the guys at GM like to shake things up (until they fall apart). Well there I was driving with my brights on when the headlights quit working all together. Luckily I was able to not go in the ditch but I did drive the last 2 miles by the light of my 4way flashers. Seems obvious to me this is a big safety issue.
