well i don't see nothing wrong with the intakes on ebay but they are not carb certified. in case you are asked to pop your hood at a control you might get into trouble, even thou i don't see how it affects the emissions. it's the law

Just look at the materials in the intake. You want a minimum number of bends in the pipe for the best flow, so look for one specifically made for your car. Also they probably use aluminum which absorbs a lot of heat defeating the purpose of CAI. You might want to powder coat it or use some ceramic paint. The low price might also be due to a crappy filter. If you paint the pipe and buy a new filter it should be as good as any major brand.

Everyone ive seen that buys off ebay gets crappy hardware, so you'll prob have to go to the store and get a few things to make it fit well and not bounce around

i bought an AEM knockoff off ebay(short ram) for $15 with a K&N filter on, its still chromey and all and works fine i guess, not that i ever had a real AEM to test against, but im sure its not off by much.

They use a K&N filter, but it is made for them and you cannot buy one like it from K&N. It doesn't make a big hp difference though, and the filters are like $130 from AEM
